Dubai Schools, Govt. Offices Go Remote Amid Weather Alert

UAE Mandates remote work due to bad weather

Dubai, UAE: In response to anticipated unstable weather conditions, Dubai’s Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has directed private schools and government entities to operate remotely on Tuesday, April 16.

The announcement comes as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of residents amid fluctuating weather forecasts. Private schools, including those under the GEMS Education group, will transition to distance learning for the day. Meanwhile, government departments across the emirate will conduct operations remotely.

GEMS Education issued a statement stating that their decision aligns with guidance from relevant authorities and prioritizes the safety of the school community. Additionally, schools regulated by the Sharjah Private Education Authority will continue remote learning on Wednesday, per regulatory directives.

With safety as the top priority, authorities emphasize the necessity of remote operations to mitigate risks posed by adverse weather conditions.
