Ellington’s Ramadan Food Drive Unites Dubai Community

Ellington's Ramadan Food Sharing Campaign

In a heartening display of community spirit, Ellington Properties, in collaboration with the UAE Food Bank, has concluded its month-long Ramadan Food Sharing Campaign, which left a lasting impact on Dubai residents.

As the holy month of Ramadan draws to a close, the initiative is a testament to the power of collective action to address food insecurity. Strategically positioned refrigerators brimming with essential supplies were placed across prime residential areas, including DT1 in Downtown Dubai and Belgravia 2, Belgravia 3, Harrington House, and Belgravia Heights in Jumeirah Village Circle.

What sets this campaign apart is the active involvement of residents who generously volunteered their time to maintain the food stock in these refrigerators, ensuring that no one in need went hungry during Iftar. This selfless act of kindness fostered a sense of togetherness and solidarity among the community members.

For individuals like Amjad Ali, a Deliveroo driver, these refrigerators provided a lifeline during busy work hours. “The food fridges helped me break my fast. I passed by the community and saw it, and since I didn’t have time to prepare food for Iftar as I was still working, they were kind enough to share the meals with me,” Ali shared, reflecting on the initiative’s significance in his daily life.

Moreover, the initiative brought joy to those receiving the meals and community workers like Dharmendra, a construction supervisor in Downtown Dubai. “Seeing my colleagues so happy and excited to head to the refrigerators and break their fast made me happy, too. I’d like to thank Ellington for such a kind initiative,” expressed Darmender, encapsulating the communal spirit that permeated the neighbourhoods.

Residents across these locations echoed similar sentiments of gratitude and appreciation for the initiative’s impact. Lewis William Bass, a resident at Belgravia Heights in JVC, emphasized the unity forged among strangers through collective participation. “Despite being strangers, all the residents in this neighborhood came together to participate in this campaign, providing food during Iftar. We really appreciate this activity by Ellington Properties and UAE Food Bank and thank them for the initiative,” remarked Bass, underscoring the significance of communal bonds in times of need.

Beyond fostering a sense of togetherness during Ramadan, initiatives like these play a crucial role in nurturing a positive communal atmosphere that persists long after the holy month concludes. They reflect the unwavering dedication of the UAE community to supporting those in need and embody the true spirit of generosity and compassion.

As Ramadan draws to a close, the legacy of Ellington’s Ramadan Food Sharing Campaign serves as a poignant reminder of the resilience and generosity inherent within the UAE community. It reaffirms their commitment to uplifting each other during this special time of year and beyond, embodying the true essence of unity and compassion.
